History:

History Up To End of the Books Here

Harry spent the summer of his 18th year stuck in Hogwarts to complete his seventh year. He owed it to McGonagall and Dumbledore to finish his education properly. The Ministry offered Harry a position as an Auror before he even took his NEWTs but turned them down. He didn't want anyone to believe he didn't fully belong there. Instead of taking a position inside the Auror corps once he'd graduated, Harry took the harder route and signed up for intensive training, which he passed, miraculously, with all his body parts intact.

Ginny took Harry's focus poorly and their break ups usually involved a great deal of shouting until Ginny got recruited by the Harpies and was off training, herself. It was easy to be happy for her, especially since it meant their relationship smoothed out. They were never as close as Harry thought two people having a romance ought to be but never tried to think about it too hard.

It was nice.

Whenever he had a day off, Harry would go to Andromeda Tonks' home and watch Teddy as she took a much needed rest. This worked out well for everybody until Teddy's fourth birthday. Andromeda had a massive heart attack and died in her bed before anyone realized she was suffering.

Teddy found her first.

Harry found her second.

He immediately appealed to the Wizengamot to keep Teddy and was granted custody without contest, not even by Narcissa or Draco Malfoy, both of whom made an appearance at Andromeda's funeral.

The next few years passed with remarkable ease, stymied once by Ginny storming off once in the middle of the night and Teddy playing hide-and-seek too well.
